Fingerprint Introduction
This series of work involves how our identity has been formed through using fingerprints. The fingerprint represents the most primitive way of identification in contrast to the sophisticated technological use of fingerprint scanning and identity cards for security purposes.
This body of prints is created from stone lithography whereby a greasy fingerprint can be directly pressed on a stone or a plate that can be reproduced as a fingermark. Additionally, the photo-screen printing allows the fingerprint to be reproduced through scanning and film output. This process relates to the technological fingerprint scanning process.
My prints portray the simplicity of how the fingerprint can identify us in various contexts. For example, the print ‘Plotting’ represents planning decisions.
